The Wonder Cave of Nellitheertha, located to the right of the temple, offers a unique spiritual experience. After traversing around 200 meters inside, devotees can take a holy dip in the sacred lake, believed to have healing properties, especially for skin ailments, before performing abhishek to the Shivalinga. A natural marvel, water continuously drips in the shape of amla (gooseberries), giving the cave its name, Nellitheertha. The cave is open for exploration by all, regardless of caste or creed, with access allowed for only six months each year, from Dhanur Sankranti (October 17) to Mesha Sankranti (April 14).
Before entering the cave, devotees are required to bathe in Nagappa Kere, a sacred pond located outside the temple. This pond is considered an essential part of the spiritual journey, with devotees entering the cave only in wet clothes. Known for its religious and natural significance, the serene Nagappa Kere enhances the spiritual ambiance of the temple, combining the divine with the beauty of nature.
